I would most certainly think that they would be very good for the job. I'm sure they are very glad that they had you do a portrait of Charlie before he past. It's hard to go through... I had to myself this year... I only have pictures, but I plan on doing a tribute to him eventually. After all, I don't think I'll forget how he looks anytime soon.

Ahh! Wowza! You never cease to impress me. I am actually surprised with the accuracy in painting my pooch, as the details were a bit hard to notice, but you did her justice!

We miss Charlie, but my mom's going to flip when she gets the Babe one. It's too bad; I'd have liked to send you a picture of Babe when she was younger, but we adopted her from the Human Society at the age of six, and she was already looking pretty old.

Well, it will look wonderful hanging on the wall with the other - just wait, expect a third request for Christmas ; )

I can't wait to hear what your mom says!!!! I'm really glad you like it. You're right about the details being hard to find. I usually get that with dark doggies, but it's all about playing with the light so that they pop out against the dark feather background.

And a third for Christmas? How many dogs do you guys have? haha, you will soon have a Kristan gallery in your hallway! Awesome! Always glad to paint a feather for you, especially after your mom's first reaction to Charlie's painting. I'll never forget how much she appreciated it.

Yep, this puppy is my second dog, Babe. We had to put Charlie down three weeks ago. When my mom opened the portrait of Charlie, she started crying and wouldn't even look at it for the first two hours or so.

And yes, Babe looks extremely serious in this picture... Kristan suggested getting a photo of her "smiling," but even when Babe pants, her mouth is almost totally closed. She's a serious kind of dog. ;'
