Description

I've been busy with keychains! Here's a new batch of them!

And, as always, I take commissions on these!

Thanks to those who are sending ideas for what to paint in the keychains! These are quite fun to make!

Hi there! I'm here on behalf of #Traditional-Artists to make sure you get all the feedback this piece received at our last Critique Night! :aww:

I hope it is helpful and you can use it for your future work. :)

“I really like the idea of painting on feathers (which I've seen before) and then making keychains of them (which I've never seen before). They all look just beautiful. Really the only things that are bothering me about those are small details: I think the "r" in "Sharon" is a bit to wide to fit with the other letters, and the white ... whatever - the thing you put in front of the lines on music sheets, I have no idea what that's in English - seems a bit too solid white. Apart from that, these are great! I love them!”

“First of all-- these are really meticulous and the details are really impressive, especially considering the canvas--I think my favorite are the fish and the penguin, just because they really use the color of the feathers within the concept/color of the painting. Something I would try to do, to make them more vibrant is perhaps use a lighter/more vibrant color to lighted certain parts-- Like a cadmium red on tips of the rose instead of white. I think the white can actually wash out some of those really strong colors, especially on the rose. I know this can be tough with limited supplies and white generally is really nice and opaque so it's easier to use. Otherwise these are really crazy and I want one.”

“Aww, those are really cute! One can see there's a lot of effort put into them, drawing at such a small scale is always difficult, and then on feathers! There's really only small details to be improved: I think the white on the first rose is a bit too bright, a light pink might have worked better here, it's a very stark contrast this way, especially with the white feather underneath. Also I'm not sure about the small feathers you added to the painted one, I feel they draw a wee bit too much attention from the beautiful paintings. But I adore your work, the second rose is fabulous and the penguin just plain sweet – and the bubbles on the fish must be one of my favourite things, even though it's such a small detail. Great work!”
